The 2008 revision of Kawasaki's 1352 cc flagship sport-tourer, which had launched in 2006 as the ZZR1400. Kawasaki reduced emissions and mechanical noise while raising peak power and low-rev torque, using a third catalyser, larger secondary air ports, revised injection and exhaust, new piston profiles and a die-cast aluminium monocoque frame. It keeps a sporty riding position, quad projector headlights and a dash with a programmable shift light.
